The Tanzanian government has officially announced 41,500 new job vacancies across different sectors — including education, health, agriculture, defense, livestock, and fishing.

The announcement was made on Saturday, October 11, 2025, by Juma Mkomi, the Secretary General of the Office of the President – Public Service Management and Good Governance.

He said these new Tanzania government jobs 2025 are meant to reduce the current shortage of public servants across the country.

Breakdown of the 41,500 Job Vacancies

Here’s how the new jobs will be distributed:

  • Education sector: 12,176 positions

  • Health sector (Local Governments): 10,280 positions

  • Agriculture: 470 positions

  • Livestock: 312 positions

  • Fisheries: 47 positions

  • Security Forces (Police, Prisons, Fire, and Immigration): 7,000 positions

45,000 More Jobs to Be Filled

Mkomi also instructed the Employment Secretariat to finish processing the 45,000 job openings that were not filled in the 2024/2025 financial year.
These will be handled together with the new 41,500 jobs for 2025/2026, and all should be completed before November 2025.

He added that the government is currently facing a shortage of about 280,000 workers, and new employment permits will be issued soon to help fill that gap.
