The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOE) has officially announced that the Russian State Scholarship Programme for the 2026/2027 academic year is now open.

If you’re a Tanzanian student dreaming of studying in Russia, this is your golden opportunity. You can apply for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies in different fields offered by top Russian universities.

Who Can Apply for the Russian State Scholarship

To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) and Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with Division II or above

  • Hold a Diploma with a GPA of at least 3.5 in a related field

  • For Master’s programmes – hold a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) with GPA not less than 3.5

  • For PhD programmes – hold a Master’s degree

  • It is also recommended to attend Russian language courses at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Dar es Salaam for at least six months during the application period

What the Scholarship Covers

This is a partial scholarship, which means it covers tuition fees only.

Applicants will be responsible for paying for:

  • Accommodation

  • Travel expenses

  • Health insurance

  • Stationery and study materials

  • Visa fees

Note: The Government of Tanzania does not provide loans or grants for students awarded under this scholarship.

  2. A scanned copy of your passport biodata page

  4. Once done, click the green “Submit” button to complete your application

  5. Deadline for submission: 15 January 2026, at 23:59 EAT

Important: Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
